And that goes for all you punks in the press

So, for a long time I've been trying to figure out some way to tap into my creative side. I used to have a side job taking sports photography and blogging, but that ended about 3 months ago, mainly because I felt like my creativity was being squelched by the restrictions I had. I mean, seriously, how many different ideas can you come up to write about kickball and still keep it fresh? I was told I was repeating myself. Yeah, that kind of ended my career in sports journalism.

So I started blogging.  I've started two blogs since January, and really only update this one ever. The other one, begun anonymously, became a blog to complain about being single, the one guy who is out of reach, and my various attempts to get him off my mind. I was hoping that needing stuff to talk about would cause me to find more dates, "If you build it he will come"-style. Hasn't happened yet. I built it. He's still out there somewhere. And he's probably not the guy I was complaining about all the time.

So that brings me to this blog, begun shortly after my exit from NYCSSC, with the intention of letting others read it. That, also, never happened. I haven't even told anyone about this till tonight when I told Superdrew. He thinks I should start a music blog. And oddly enough I was thinking the same thing.

I've been reading this book, and music journalism just seems so interesting. Writing about music just seems natural to me. I've always been into music, and I certainly have opinions about it. It would be just the thing to tap into my creativity. And it would be a hobby, nothing I'd actually feel obligated to, like a job or something. Definitely on my list of things to do this weekend -- start a music blog.
